Code of ConductEverything pretty much reduces to two rules:
- Don't be a jerk.
- If that's not specific enough you don't belong in Moo.
Our goal is to maintain a pleasant social environment where we can work together for our common in-game goals and have fun. The following sorts of behavior are not appropriate in <Moo>:
Offensive and immature behavior. Its hard to define exactly where the line is. In general, we'd like people to avoid excessive swearing, frequent/explicit sexual references, and outbursts of anger/bad temper. Members of <Moo> need to act like adults. There are some levels of offensive language (certain racial epithets and ethnic slurs) that simply will not be tolerated.
Creating Drama. Disputes and friction arise on occasion. You are expected to resolve disputes like adults, in private, without exposing the guild at large to drama. The officers are available to mediate and try to find solutions to conflicts. Always respect your fellow guildies. If there is conflict, find a way to make peace.
Exploitation. The guild is a cooperative venture; we help each other and help the guild. The general principle is that you should put in at least what you take out. If you use the guild bank for repairs or for crafting materials, find ways to replenish the bank over time. If the guild helps you level and gear up, help newer players level and gear up in turn. Please don't hop to another guild right after we've helped you gear up. Extreme forms of exploitation, such as looting the guild bank and intentional ninja-looting will not be tolerated.
Most cases will be handled by a friendly, non-confrontational /tell from an officer; our goal is to provide guidance and not to punish or humiliate. Persistent misbehavior may result in removal from the guild; this will be done only after the officers have had a chance to discuss the matter. Extreme violations may result in summary expulsion.
RaidingNobody is required to raid with <Moo>, but if you want to raid regularly then you will need to conform to raid guidelines.
Dependability and Preparation. If you sign up you need to be on time, and you need to be prepared (know the fights, have consumables, etc.).
Gearing and Skill. Raid progression requires progressively higher degrees of gearing and skill. We'll help you with both, but we won't invite you to a raid if we don't feel you're ready for it. You need to accept our judgement in such matters.
Raid Balance. We need to make sure that the raid has an appropriate balance of tanks, healers, and various sorts of DPS. If we have too many of one class we may ask you to rotate in and out of the raid on a boss-by-boss basis (where appropriate). We encourage people to develop alts and additional specs to give us flexibility.
Priorities. Obviously real-life has priority over raiding, and if you can't sign up because of an RL commitment (especially the need to spend time with your family), that's OK. Its also OK to level an alt or PvP on a raid night, provided we're not short-handed. If, however, we're short-handed (e.g. need another healer) and you're online we expect you to make the success of the group a priority.
Failing to meet these requirements won't get you kicked out of <Moo> but it may affect how often you're invited to raid. We're not trying to be mean or elitist, but raid progression requires commitment and it is the people who show that commitment who will progress the fastest. That having been said, even if you're not a regular raider we will try to get you into raids if there's an open slot.
